The Second Jungle Book

Kipling's sequel to The Jungle Book, returning to Mowgli and the animals of the Seeonee jungle.

Mowgli is growing up among the wolves, guided by Baloo the bear and Bagheera the black panther, but the jungle is changing around him. In these stories he faces a terrible drought, a deadly invasion of red dogs and a dangerous treasure guarded by a white cobra, until he must finally choose between the jungle and the world of men.

Alongside the five Mowgli tales are three further stories set in India, each followed by Kipling's own verse. First published in 1895, the collection completes the adventures begun in The Jungle Book.
