Wrath and Wandering

Both of Homer's great epics in one collection, in the clear and readable prose translations of Samuel Butler.

The Iliad tells of the final year of the Trojan War and the terrible anger of Achilles, the greatest of the Greek warriors. The Odyssey follows the hero Odysseus on his ten-year journey home from Troy, past the Cyclops, the Sirens and the sorceress Circe, while his wife Penelope holds off the suitors who want his kingdom.

The founding stories of Western literature, translated so that they read as gripping stories in plain English.
