Charlotte d'Orleans, Elisabeth

Elizabeth Charlotte, Princess Palatine (1652 - 1722), was the second wife of Philippe, the Duke of Orleans, and the sister - in - law of Louis XIV. She was born at the castle in Heidelberg, Germany. Charlotte is best - known for her secret letters, which present a comprehensive account of the characters and activities of the court of Louis XIV.
