Walden

“Walden” exemplifies Thoreau’s philosophy and reflects his independent character. He states that modern man is a slave to material possessions and is leading a life of quiet desperation. He is of the view that the harmful affects of complex modern life should be countered. He urges, therefore, that life should be made easy so that its meaning may become evident to everyone.
